MINIMALISM: SPACE. LIGHT. OBJECT.

Writer's picture: Carina ElianeCarina Eliane

If you are an art kinda girl/gal you might want to check this exhibition out. To me its one of those exhibitions that its artwork you might not understand entirely but it does open your eyes and give you some inspiration, helping you to see outside of your box.First of all, there are two venues that display these Minimalism artworks. One at Singapore National Gallery and the other at ArtScience Museum. Unfortunately I only had the time to go to the one at Singapore National Gallery.

A lot of the artworks includes daily objects that you might find easily recreated into an art that makes you stop and stare. Unlike other exhibition, this time its all about MINIMALISM, an art ... since the 1950's. It includes over 100 artworks from over 70 leading artists. It challenges your sense of smell sight and hearing. With a lot of lights artwork, music composed that you can listen to as well as artwork that gives out a certain smell. (even some you can bring home! what?)

Here are some of the artworks that I love

Overall, to me it gives a whole different feeling compared to what art-painting exhibition does. Perhaps it makes you think more and challenges your perspective I should say. It would be kinda fun to go to and view those artwork with a friend. Someone to share and compare your thoughts with!

Also, here is my "going to the museum" look.
